Ward, Arkansas

A draft ordinance that bans pit bulls from the city is currently being considered and is EXTREMELY LIKELY to pass at the next city council meeting in Ward, Arkansas.

Ward formerly had a ban on "pit bulls."  The ban was lifted and replaced with a generic dangerous dog ordinance.  However, the city is once again looking at a ban because it doesn't want to be a "dumping ground" for pit bulls since the surrounding communities are falling like dominos to BSL.

There is ONE citizen currently opposing the ban while no citizens are pushing for it, yet the city officials still view a ban as in the community's best interest.

ARKANSAS RESIDENTS WE NEED YOU TO STEP UP!  Even if you don't live in Ward, please try to attend the next city council meeting.

Unless the city officials receive some excellent alternative ordinances, it is strongly felt that this ban WILL PASS on August 13.

Please send your POLITE and RESPECTFUL opposition to breed specific legislation, as well as draft ordinances to the city clerk via fax at (501) 941-2313.  (I do not have e-mail contact information.)
