Not yet proposed, however, Minnesota Representative. John Lesch, plans
to push for a state ban on Akitas, chow chows, Rottweilers, pit bulls
and wolf hybrids, or mixed-breed dogs with any of the above traits because they "pose a
threat to the safety of citizens."
NOW is the time for those of you who live in Minnesota to
rally the troops and start making contact with your representatives in an effort to nip this in the bud. Open up
a line of communication. Explain to them your concerns and why breed specific legislation is a "band-aid" solution to
the much bigger problem of irresponsible ownership. Start planting those seeds now so you have something to work with
later this year when/if this is formally proposed.
To that end, if you are interested in helping and/or voicing your opposition to breed specific legislation
that is expected to be proposed in the next legislative session in Minnesota, please contact
http://www.arottalove.org as they are heading up the opposition there.
Our friends at A Rotta
Love Rescue in Minnesota
will keep us updated on
the status of this proposal.
