In memory of Tiffin,
my very first pit bull who passed away on February 7, 2011 at the age of 13, I wanted to do something
special to pay tribute to the incredible creature who captured my heart and inspired me to work so hard to change the perceptions
of the American Pit Bull Terrier. I want his legacy to live on through all those who love the breed and work hard every
day to bring positive awareness to them.
As part of our National Pit Bull Awareness Campaign, starting in 2011, Bless the Bullys is excited to designated October as Pit Bull Awareness Month in appreciation of
and devotion to our incredible canine companions!
Not to worry... Pit Bull Awareness Day is very much alive and well thanks to so many
breed advocates and fanciers across the country. However, extending the National Pit Bull Awareness celebration to an
entire month is a great opportunity for shelters, humane societies, breed clubs, and rescue organizations to spotlight
the breed with adoption, education, and responsible ownership events in multiple communities and venues!
Tiffin inspired me to create a national day of awareness and appreciation
for the American Pit Bull Terrier. You can help Tiffin's legacy continue by keeping the spirit
of the National Pit Bull Awareness Campaign in your heart in October and every day!
Through education and compassion, we will bring about a positive change
for these incredible dogs!
